the end of 2019 brought covid to the mountains of colorado. 2019 – 2022 was brutal as covid forced physical and mental isolation, among other trials. songs for katla is an attempt at interpreting the aural and visual hallucinations during covid illness, but also, mainly, the auditory hallucinations due to the amount of alcohol consumed. random voices, blurs, bleeps, pink and brown noises, buzzes, noisy rhythms, voices talking as if real. at times they seem real; that is when the anxiety and self-doubt join in. the door knob always knows.
